WILTSHIRE SCOUTS & EXPLORER SCOUTS – ARCHERY COMPETITION

 

 22nd and 23rd March 2014 @ County HQ Potterne – time slot to be allocated to team

The Competition will be run by Trevor Jenks (County Archery Advisor).

 

Competition Rules:

 

Scout Section  ( This will be run on the 22nd March)

 

Inter District Competition – County Scout District Archery Shield

Teams are to consist of 5 Scouts only.

Each District to be represented by one Scout team.

(Note the District Commissioner’s signature is required for the district team on the entry form)

 

County Scout Troop competition

Teams are to consist of 5 scouts only

Each troop may enter one team.

 

Explorer scout Section ( This will be run on the 23rd March)

 

Teams to consist of 5 Explorer Scouts only.

Teams will represent their unit and are limited to one team per unit.

 

Entry Form

 

Entry is by completed entry form giving all team detail required.

The entry fee per team will be £10 (to cover targets, equipment upkeep, and trophies.)

The entry fee and names will confirm your entry and must be received before 1st March 2014.

 

Scouts/Explorer Scouts must have had prior experience of Archery either with a local instructor or a District Archery Competition, as tuition cannot be given during the competition.

 

Your entry will be confirmed by email. Your Time slot will be allocated at ½ an hour per team and will be allocated following the closure date.( Dependent on demand you may be asked to shoot on either Saturday or Sunday, priority will be as indicated Scouts Saturday, Explorers Sunday)

 

In each session every Scout/Explorer Scout will have 6 warm up arrows followed by two sets of 8 competition Arrows. The highest scoring set of competition arrows will count. The second set will be used in the case of a draw and the number of bulls will be the final deciding factor. The distance will be from 10m.

 

We will record the total scores of both competition sets and the number of bulls scored on the record sheet. Scoring will be done by the instructor in charge.

 

Leaders will be emailed the results after the competition.

 

Equipment – All equipment will be provided by Potterne County Scout Center- Trevor Jenks.

 

On no account should any teams or individuals bring their own equipment.

 

Completed Permission to shoot and activity forms will be needed and it’s essential they are brought with the teams on the day and handed into the event reception on arrival.

 

Completed Activity Health forms are the responsibility of the Leader in charge of the team but must be shown to the event reception on arrival. The supervision of the team whilst not shooting is the responsibility of that leader. The event organiser reserves the right to remove individuals or teams from the competition.

 

NO Forms NO Shooting

 

The Scout County District Archery Competition Shield will be awarded to the highest scoring District Scout Team. The team will also receive a Team Certificate

 

The Explorer Scout County Archery Competition Shield will be awarded to the highest scoring Explorer Scout team. The team will also receive a Team Certificate

 

The highest scoring Scout Troop will receive individual medals. The team will also receive a Team Certificate.

 

Runners up in all three competitions will receive team certificates.

 

 

Closing date for entries is March 1st 2014
